New York to Portland OR and return for the NRHS 2005 convention, June
- July 2005
Virginia Rail Investments Corporation leased MOUNT
VERNON to accompany their KITCHI GAMMI CLUB for a trip from New York
City to the NRHS 2005 convention at Portland, Oregon and return. This
was a trip of 20 days that operated by way of the Cardinal, the California
Zephyr, a Trains Unlimited Tours special train between Oakland CA
and Portland OR, the Coast Starlight, the Empire Builder and the Lake
Shore Limited. The NRHS 2005 convention committee leased MOUNT VERNON
and KITCHI GAMMI CLUB for use in a convention excursion train. "The
Western Star", from Portland to Wishram and return.
Amtrak's westbound Cardinal rolls thru Trenton on
Sunday morning on the way to Chicago. MOUNT VERNON is one of three
private cars on the rear of this train; MOUNT VERNON is behind J.
PINCKNEY HENDERSON and ahead of KITCHI GAMMI CLUB.

Amtrak train # 51, The Cardinal, rolls thru Trenton
on Sunday morning on the way to Chicago. MOUNT VERNON is immediately
ahead of KITCHI GAMMI CLUB at the rear of the consist, on the first
leg of the westward journey to Portland.

MOUNT VERNON and KITCHI GAMMI CLUB traveled from Emeryville
CA to Portland OR in the consist of a Trains Unlimited Tours special
train. MOUNT VERNON is the fourth passenger car from the head end
of this excursion train passing thru Castella CA on July 2, 2005.

MOUNT VERNON and KITCHI GAMMI CLUB traveled
