2180-2194
DL&W/EL/MTA(PC) Coaches

In 1971, the MTA and Penn Central acquired fifteen 68 seat coaches from Erie - Lackawanna. All had been built in 1949 for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western; one lot was built by ACF and one lot was built by Pullman Standard. They became PC 2180-2194. Under the auspices of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, fourteen of these cars (2180-2188 and 2190-2194) were transferred to LIRR in May 1974. Some were lettered for LIRR, with no change in car number. Some were lettered for MTA, with no change in car number. All were retired in 1976.

Although the majority of these cars have been scrapped, it appears 5 or 6 may survive today in private ownership.
